For nearly three decades, Fra Fra Sound has been a prominent part of the international jazz and world music scene.
Founded in 1980, Fra Fra Sound has expanded it’s initials fascination with music styles of Surinam by incorporating other musical influences from the Caribbean, Africa and the United States. The cultural and artistic value of their crossover music is constantly growing.
This album ‘Dya So’ (Right Here), is the follow-up from ‘Kultiplex’ (2003) and ‘Kulembanban - Kid Dynamite Tribute’ (2004).
Dya So reflects the musicians crosscultural roots, the chemistry of a long-time collaboration, and the cultural and musical influences they’ve picked up during their Caribbean and African journeys.
